GR79-0421-5107, Winchester Model 1873 2nd Model. 44-40 cal. Serial number 49,xxx. There are strong flashes of thin blue on the frame. 40% blue mixing to brown on the barrel. Wood does not appear sanded or cleaned but shows honest use, bumps and dings. There is a crack on the left side of the forearm. It is not moving at all. I cannot tell if it is just shallow or if someone maybe put a little glue in it. Functional mechanics. The bore is bright and shiny with crisp rifling. I see some scattered very fine surface residue. The bore is much better than average. Fine condition bore. There are serrations on the side of the dust cover, which is correct. 24 inch barrel. Much better than average overall, guns shows honest wear and use. 44-40 bore are usually not as good as the bore in this gun.
