079-1024-7453, Remington Rolling Block Carbine with no patent marking on upper tang, the right side of the frame shows CROWN, ARO, 1887. Stamped into the stock on the right side is NO. 1802 with a circle cartouche above it and due to light cleaning, I cannot make out lettering inside the cartouche. Overall the stock has been lightly cleaned and coated in fine layer of linseed oil. The barrel bands, trigger guard and top of the butt-plate show tiny metal stamping. It appears to be CF. The breach of the barrel is to accommodate a necked down cartridge. A .45 Colt fits in too deep on the breech end, but the muzzle is too tight. Not certain of caliber. The bore is crisply rifled and bright with scattered fine spots of surface residue. Also a small cartouche with FSS is on the spine of the butt stock and SN on the hammer. It is centerfire. Very good overall and missing ramrod. The barrel is 23 inches to the face of the breech.
