079-0325-W0149,  Tower British Percussion Pistol dates back to the 1840s. Many were used by coastguards and Royal Navy personnel. It saw service in the Crimean War and later conflicts, such as the American Civil War. It has a 6 inch barrel in about .60 cal, smooth bore.  With moderate bumps and dings to stock, clear proofs on the barrel and Tower markings on the lock. A fine coat of oil has been applied to the stock, but not sanded first.  Crisp tight action with belt hook and captured ramrod.  Smooth brown on the barrel and these were probably finished browned, fine overall.
